The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Tuesday was a mediocre 83-98-129 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell three points to 617. Dean Taylor's Diamcor Mining Inc. (DMI) lost 1.5 cents to 20.5 cents on 58,000 shares.
Diamcor is bursting with enthusiasm for its 2023 plans at the Krone-Endora at Venetia mine in South Africa. For the past decade, the company has been quarrying the alluvial gravels -- colluvium for those geologists who care about semantics -- in a never-ending trial mining program. But based on last year's effort and Diamcor's plans for this year, the operation may finally morph into a real mine.
Mr. Taylor, president and chief executive officer, applauded his company's effort last year, a year in which it "successfully completed various upgrades," enhancements that included adding additional screening equipment, equipment to cut water consumption on a per-tonne basis, equipment to recycle water used in the processing facility and improvements to the diamond recovery circuit.
