New York spot gold fell $26.80 to $1,644.40 on Friday. The TSX-V lost 24.88 points to 578.06 while the TSX gold index slid 8.79 points to 222.70. Oh, where to start. Well, Pan American Silver Corp. (PAAS) slumped $1.04 to $20.13 on 1.1 million shares and Iamgold Corp. (IMG) fell 16 cents to $1.36 on 3.7 million shares. They had plenty of company, however, as miners and explorers alike were hit hard. One of the latter, New Found Gold Corp. (NFG), lost 49 cents to $4.48 on 191,000 shares.

(RVG) dropped one cent to 56 cents on 148,000 shares despite word that it has drilled a 115.4-metre interval averaging 3.49 grams of gold per tonne in the Joss area of its Beartrack-Arnett project in Idaho. The long hit included an 11-metre interval averaging 10.12 grams of gold per tonne and a second zone averaging 5.98 grams per tonne across 10.2 metres. Even so, the long zone was hardly a smear job, as the remaining 94.2 metres averaged a healthy 2.45 grams per tonne.
