Arbor Metals revises fall exploration plans for Ernst

2026-10-19 01:59 ET - News Release

Mr. Mark Ferguson reports

ARBOR METALS REDIRECTS FALL 2026 EXPLORATION PROGRAM TO ERNST RARE EARTH ELEMENTS PROJECT IN QUEBEC

Arbor Metals Corp. has revised its fall 2026 exploration plans and will redirect its field crew from the previously announced phase 3 program at its wholly owned Kemlee Lake lithium project in Ontario to its wholly owned Ernst rare earth element project in Northern Quebec.

The decision reflects the growing strategic importance of rare earth elements and the company's intention to prioritize near-term exploration opportunities across its critical mineral portfolio. The company continues to recognize the exploration potential of Kemlee Lake, where previous programs identified priority lithium targets, and will evaluate the timing of further work at that property as part of its continuing exploration planning.

The planned Ernst program will focus on systematic sampling of the property's principal mineralized showings using a combination of man-portable Shaw drilling and surface trenching. This approach is intended to provide additional geological and geochemical information on historically identified REE enrichment and help establish priorities for future exploration.

Prospecting conducted on the property by Golden Goliath Resources in 2023 identified nine additional radioactive anomalies. However, that program did not include a detailed examination of the principal showing, where anomalous REE enrichment has historically been documented. The principal showing will therefore be a priority target for the coming program. Radioactivity is not, on its own, a measure of rare earth element grade or economic potential.

The company anticipates mobilizing its field crew to Ernst within the next few weeks, subject to customary operational considerations. The property is accessible through Quebec Hwy. 389, with the principal showing located north of Manic-Cinq and within walking distance of the highway. This proximity is expected to support efficient field access and program logistics.

Francis R. Newton, PGeo (OGQ No. 2129), a consultant to Arbor, a qualified person under National Instrument 43-101 (Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects), has reviewed the technical contents of this news release and has approved the disclosure of the technical information contained herein.

Management commentary

"Our decision to focus the fall 2026 field program on Ernst reflects our assessment of the opportunity to advance a historically identified rare earth target through a focused and efficient exploration campaign," said Mark Ferguson, president and chief executive officer of Arbor Metals Corp. "The principal showing has not been examined in detail in the more recent prospecting work, and the combination of targeted sampling, Shaw drilling and trenching should help us better understand its geological characteristics. Kemlee Lake remains an important part of our project portfolio."

Environmental stewardship

Arbor Metals remains committed to conducting its exploration activities in a safe, responsible and environmentally sustainable manner. The company intends to work with local stakeholders and indigenous communities and to follow applicable regulatory requirements and industry practices designed to minimize environmental impacts.
