The Globe and Mail reports in its Saturday edition that office landlords such as Allied Properties have a problem. The Globe's John Heinzl writes that as much as some companies are trying to drag their employees back to their prepandemic office routines, the alternative -- working from home -- is so much more appealing. You can see it in Allied's struggling unit price, in its failure to meet its year-end occupancy target of 90 per cent (it ended the third quarter at 87.4 per cent) and in its 60-per-cent distribution cut in early December. As much as employers want to see more of their workers in the office, a lot of those employees have proved remarkably resilient in their desire to stay home.
