VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Apollo Silver Corp. (“Apollo Silver” or the “Company”) (TSX-V: APGO | OTCQB: APGOF | Frankfurt: 6ZF) today reaffirmed its support for Ejido Benito Juárez (the “Ejido”) in addressing the water challenges that affect agriculture, livestock and livelihoods on its lands in Chihuahua, Mexico. The Company has expressed its commitment to working with the Ejido over the long term on practical solutions to those challenges, beginning with independent technical work on the aquifer, the springs and the existing wells.
"Water is the first question at Ejido Benito Juárez, and it should be," said Tom Peregoodoff, Executive Chair of Apollo Silver. "The wells and springs of Ejido Benito Juárez have sustained families and their farmland for generations. We have agreed to present the Ejido with a plan outlining our long-term commitment to advancing solutions to their water challenges, including direct support for their agriculture and their livestock."
The scope, the priorities and the sequencing of the water program will be defined jointly with the Ejido and in accordance with applicable authorizations. The assembly resolution reinstating mineral exploration at Cinco de Mayo is in process; pending that resolution taking effect, Apollo Silver will continue to meet with the community and its representatives ahead of any significant field activity.
Apollo Silver also notes the position of President Claudia Sheinbaum's administration that mining remains an important contributor to the Mexican economy and that water is to be treated as a right of the communities that depend on it, reflected in the reforms to Mexican water law. The Company believes both propositions can be true at the same time, and intends that community water be part of the resolution wherever it operates.
