ALTIPLANO PROVIDES UPDATE ON LEGAL PROCEEDINGS IN CHILE

Altiplano Metals Inc. is providing an update on the legal actions initiated against two of the company's wholly owned Chilean subsidiaries, Andes Metals SpA and Altiplano Minerals SpA. The company and the company's other subsidiaries are not subject to these initiated proceedings. Altiplano confirms that the case was presented to the courts and during this time the actions were contested but no decisions were made. There will be an evidentiary hearing for each of these cases later this week where the company will have further opportunity to present its opposition. After these hearings have concluded, there will be additional hearings to be held within the following weeks in which the courts shall rule on the admissibility of the actions.

The company confirms that is working with local stakeholders and authorities to resolve the proceedings to prevent any further actions. The company will provide an update once more information is available.
