Mr. Peter Born reports
BEDFORD ENCOUNTERS ZONES OF ANOMALOUS URANIUM AT SHEPPARD LAKE URANIUM PROJECT
Bedford Metals Corp. has released the results of its 2026 diamond drill program, completed in May, 2026, at its wholly owned Sheppard Lake uranium project, located on the southern margin of Saskatchewan's prolific Athabasca basin. Highlights include:
-
SHP-26-05: up to 1,447 counts per second, 0.133 per cent triuranium octoxide(1,190 parts per million uranium total digestion);
-
SHP-26-06: up to 400 cps, 0.049 per cent U3O8 (419 ppm U total digestion).
The spring 2026 DDH program consisted of 1,135.71 metres of diamond drilling. In total, 218 samples were collected, including 104 drill core and 114 composite samples, and were delivered to the SRC Geoanalytical Laboratory in Saskatoon, where they were analyzed for multielement, U3O8 and boron assay analyses. Drill holes SHP-26-03 and SHP-26-04 targeted the TZ-2 conductive anomaly, and SHP-26-05 and SHP-26-06 targeted the TZ-1 conductive anomaly.
SHP-26-05 returned an interval of 0.133 per cent U3O8 over 0.6 m from 21.4 to 22 m (1,190 ppm U total digestion), with an adjacent interval of 0.04 per cent U3O8 from 20.9 to 21.4 m. Scintillometer readings taken within the same interval in SHP-26-05 returned values of up to 1,447 cps in a pegmatite. Spectrometer readings returned values of up to 121.1 ppm U and 48.1 ppm thorium.
SHP-26-06 hosts broad mineralization with a near continuous run from 19.5 to 48 m, with multiple 0.5- to 1.5-metre intervals between 0.014 per cent and 0.049 per cent U3O8, with the best being 0.049 per cent U3O8 from 36 to 37 m (419 ppm U total digestion). This same interval is present in the composite samples from 20- to 30-metre depth, averaging 0.02 per cent U3O8 (190 ppm U total digestion).
Both SHP-26-05 and SHP-26-06 intersected mineralized intervals at roughly the same depth in each hole, indicating a laterally continuous, shallow mineralized horizon.
Peter Born, president of Bedford, commented: "Both holes drilled into the TZ-1 anomaly returned uranium mineralization at shallow depth, including 0.133 per cent U3O8 over 0.6 m in SHP-26-05 and a near-continuous mineralized run from 19.5 to 48 m in SHP-26-06. With 1,135.71 m of drilling completed and TZ-1 confirmed as a mineralized target. These results are highly encouraging and reinforce our confidence in the property's exploration potential, particularly around the TZ-1 anomaly. Elevated U3O8 values, strong CPS readings and proximity to key structural features near the Athabasca basin boundary all point to a highly prospective system. We are eager to build on these findings as we advance exploration at Sheppard Lake."
Bedford Metals remains steadfast in its commitment to conducting all exploration activities in an environmentally responsible manner and in close collaboration with local indigenous communities and other stakeholders. The company places the highest priority on minimizing its environmental footprint while fostering positive and mutually respectful relationships within the region.
All samples from exploration programs are shipped to the Saskatchewan Research Council Geoanalytical Laboratories in Saskatoon, Saskk., in secure containment for preparation, processing and multielement analysis by ICP-MS and ICP-OES using total (HF:NHO3:HClO4) and partial digestion (HNO3:HCl), boron by fusion and U3O8 weight per cent assay by ICP-OES using higher-grade standards. The SRC is an ISO/IEC 17025/2005 and Standards Council of Canada certified analytical laboratory. The SRC is independent of the company. Blanks, standard reference materials and repeats are inserted into the sample stream at regular intervals by the SRC in accordance with Bedford's quality assurance/quality control procedures.
