Beauce Gold outlines 2026 drill program at Saint-Simon

2026-10-08 18:25 ET - News Release

Mr. Patrick Levasseur reports

BEAUCE GOLD FIELDS OUTLINES 2026 SONIC DRILL PROGRAM FOR SAINT-SIMON-LES-MINES PALEOPLACER GOLD CHANNEL

Beauce Gold Fields Inc. has planned first phase of its 2026 sonic drilling program on the Saint-Simon-les-Mines paleoplacer gold channel in Southern Quebec.

The initial program is expected to comprise approximately 20 to 30 sonic drill holes concentrated within an approximately one-kilometre, western portion of the nearly six-kilometre-long paleoplacer channel, principally within the De Lery and Chaussegros sectors.

The program is designed to test the auriferous basal sedimentary horizons, saprolitic and fractured bedrock, as well as interpreted tributary, confluence and deltaic features within the selected section of the paleovalley. Selected historical drill holes will also be twinned to compare modern sonic drilling results with historical geological and gold data.

The initial Delery-Chaussegros area was selected because it combines several priority geological features with substantial historical drilling and previous geophysical coverage. BGF plans to extend sonic drilling to the remaining paleoplacer sections during 2027.

The sonic drilling program is planned to begin after Nov. 15, 2026, following the conclusion of the local hunting season. The company has received the required authorization for impact-causing exploration work (ATI authorization) from Quebec's Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests (MRNF) for the planned drilling activities.

Patrick Levasseur, president and chief executive officer of Beauce Gold Fields, commented: "This is an important and exciting milestone for Beauce Gold Fields. For the first time in decades, we will be drilling the historical Saint-Simon-les-Mines placer gold channel with modern sonic methods to directly test its gold potential and the geological basis of our current exploration target. This district produced significant coarse gold historically, including large nuggets, but much of the paleoplacer remains underexplored by modern standards. We believe this program has the potential to materially improve our understanding of the channel and help demonstrate the scale and significance of the Saint-Simon-les-Mines paleoplacer system."

Drill targeting and previous geophysics

The sonic drill program will be guided by the integration of historical drilling, geological interpretation and previously completed geophysical surveys covering portions of the Delery and Chaussegros sectors.

Beginning in 2013, the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) conducted electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) and induced polarization (IP) surveys across portions of the Saint-Simon-les-Mines paleoplacer area. Subsequent geophysical work included additional ERT, gravity and related surveys that contributed to the interpretation of overburden thickness, paleovalley geometry and bedrock structure

These data sets, combined with historical drilling by Beauce Placer Co., Geological Survey of Canada, Coniagas and Macamic, provide a substantial geological framework for positioning the initial sonic drill holes.

In July, 2026, Beauce Gold Fields announced plans to complete a seismic refraction and reflection survey prior to sonic drilling. Following further technical and cost review, the company elected to defer the seismic program. The proposed seismic contractor was required to engage a third party blasting contractor to provide the explosive seismic source, which materially increased the cost of the program.

Five paleoplacer sections

For exploration purposes, Beauce Gold Fields has subdivided the Saint-Simon-les-Mines paleoplacer channel into five principal sections, each corresponding to an area where a current or interpreted ancient tributary entered the paleovalley from the northern flank.

The five sections are:

  • Delery section, which includes the Giroux Brook tributary, historically worked during the 19th century;
  • Chaussegros section, located near Rang Chaussegros;
  • Saint-Gustave section, located near Rang Saint-Gustave and the area historically worked by Yuba dredge operations during the 1960s;
  • G80-G85 section, where previous exploration identified an interpreted tributary-related deltaic target;
  • Rang 6 section, located at the eastern end of the paleovalley near the headwaters of the Gilbert River.

About the Saint-Simon-les-Mines paleoplacer channel

The Saint-Simon-les-Mines paleoplacer is a nearly six-kilometre-long buried gold-bearing channel within the Gilbert River paleovalley and represents the core of Canada's first gold rush district. Historical mining from the 1860s through the 1960s recovered significant quantities of coarse gold, including multiounce nuggets.

The company's geological model indicates that gold mineralization within the paleoplacer system is concentrated principally within basal sedimentary horizons, saprolitic bedrock and fractures, or natural traps developed along the paleovalley floor.

The paleovalley lies immediately south of the company's interpreted Saddle Reef-style antiform structures. Beauce Gold Fields' geological model is evaluating these structures and associated quartz-vein systems as potential bedrock sources for at least part of the historical placer gold.

Historical and modern geological work also indicates that tributaries entering the Gilbert River paleovalley from the north may have played an important role in transporting and concentrating gold. Interpreted deltaic deposits developed at tributary mouths therefore represent priority exploration targets for the sonic drilling program.

Exploration target

The drilling program follows the company's June, 2026, technical assessment of the Saint-Simon-les-Mines paleoplacer channel, which established an exploration target ranging between:

  • 4,004,674 and 5,991,229 cubic metres;
  • 2.02 Au grams per cubic metre to 12.0 Au g/cubic m.

The exploration target is based on the interpretation of historical drilling, geological modelling and reconstruction of the Gilbert River paleovalley, polygonal volumetric calculations, and the evaluation of auriferous basal sedimentary, saprolitic and weathered bedrock units.

The updated geological interpretation recognizes the potential importance of buried tributaries and deltaic deposits, natural bedrock traps, and greater-than-previously-recognized thicknesses of saprolitic and fractured bedrock within the paleovalley.

The potential quantity and grade of the exploration target are conceptual in nature. There has been insufficient exploration to define a mineral resource, and it is uncertain whether further exploration will result in the delineation of a mineral resource.

About Beauce Gold Fields Inc.

Beauce Gold Fields is focused on exploring and developing the historic placer gold district of the Beauce region of Southern Quebec. The company's objective is to trace historical placer gold workings back to potential bedrock sources and evaluate the potential for economic lode-gold mineralization.

The company's flagship property is the Saint-Simon-les-Mines gold project, site of Canada's first gold rush, which predates the Yukon Klondike. The Beauce region hosted major historical placer gold operations from the 1860s through the 1960s and produced some of the largest gold nuggets recorded in Canadian mining history, including nuggets exceeding 50 ounces.

Beauce Gold Fields continues to explore antiform structures that the company believes may have contributed gold to the extensive auriferous placer deposits of the Beauce region. The company's geological model is evaluating whether structural traps associated with antiform folding and saddle-reef-style quartz mineralization may represent potential bedrock sources for gold found within the historical Beauce paleoplacer system.
