Copper One grab samples return up to 1.15% Cu at Sport

2026-09-04 19:32 ET - News Release

Mr. David Greenway reports

COPPER ONE ADVANCES NORTH AMERICAN COPPER PORTFOLIO WITH EXPLORATION AND DRILLING, IDENTIFIES NEW SURFACE COPPER MINERALIZATION UP TO 1.155% CU AT SPORT PROJECT, UTAH

Copper One Resources Corp. has released new surface copper assay results from a first-pass reconnaissance program at the Sport project in Utah's historic San Francisco mining district, which the company is acquiring through its proposed acquisition of Rooinek Mining Corp. (see news release dated July 20, 2026).

Highlights:

  • Grab samples returned up to 1.155 per cent copper (Cu) (SP002), with visible malachite and chalcopyrite, from a first-pass surface program of 50 rock grab samples (table 1).
  • The company's initial interpretation is that copper-silver mineralization occurs along faults and other structural conduits within a geological setting characterized by breccia- and intrusive-related copper mineralization.
  • Results support the company's thesis that the underexplored margins of the Frisco copper trend warrant further exploration. The Sport project lies on trend with Hawk Resources' Cactus copper-gold project.
  • Next steps include expanded surface sampling, geological mapping and geophysics to vector toward a potential intrusive copper source, plus gold fire assays on all reconnaissance samples.

David Greenway, president and chief executive officer of Copper One, commented: "These initial results help further delineate favorable exploration zones in the highly prospective Sport project, with surface samples returning up to 1.155 per cent copper from our first-pass reconnaissance program. Identifying this level of copper mineralization at surface provides a strong starting point for systematic follow-up exploration. We now intend to expand our sampling, mapping and geophysical work to better understand the controls on mineralization and evaluate the potential for a broader intrusive-related copper system at Sport."

Reconnaissance program

During initial reconnaissance exploration at Sport, geological consultants collected 50 rock grab samples (SP001 to SP050) from surface outcrops. Multiple samples returned anomalous copper, highlighted by 1.155 per cent Cu in sample SP002 and 0.819 per cent Cu in sample SP044. Malachite and chalcopyrite were observed in mineralized outcrops. The company's initial interpretation is that mineralization occurs along faults, breccias, other structural conduits and margins of small, late intrusive bodies.

Copper One plans to expand surface sampling coverage and evaluate whether the observed mineralization may provide vectors toward a concealed intrusive source of copper mineralization. The company believes the structural setting and observed mineralization warrant further investigation within the broader Frisco copper trend. The company's thesis is that the margins of the Frisco copper trend remain underexplored and it is encouraged by the results returned from this initial reconnaissance program.

Copper market

The Sport project results come at a time of significant strength in the copper market. On Aug. 26, 2026, copper traded above $6.7775 (U.S.) per pound during intraday trading, reaching record territory, highlighting the increasingly strong market fundamentals for the metal. Copper demand continues to be supported by expanding investment in electrification, power-grid infrastructure, renewable energy and AI-driven (artificial intelligence) data centres, while concerns over future mine supply have reinforced copper's strategic importance. This market environment underscores the growing need for exploration and development of new copper projects in North America.

Mr. Greenway added: "Copper reaching a new record intraday high of $6.7775 (U.S.) per pound on Aug. 26 reinforces why we are focused on building a portfolio of North American copper assets. Copper is increasingly critical to power grids, electrification and the rapidly expanding infrastructure requirements of AI and data centres. Against that backdrop, we believe this is an important time to be exploring for new copper discoveries and the early results at Sport provide us with another opportunity to do exactly that."

About the Sport project

The Sport project comprises 108 contiguous unpatented lode mining claims covering approximately 1,902 acres (770 hectares) within the historic San Francisco (Frisco) mining district, on lands administered by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Beaver county, western Utah. The project lies on trend with the Cactus copper-gold project being explored by Hawk Resources. Surface mapping has identified extensive magmatic-hydrothermal breccias, alteration and structural features supporting the interpretation that near-surface, breccia-hosted mineralization may be associated with an intrusive-related copper system.

Sample preparation and analysis

The 50 rock grab samples were submitted to ALS in Reno, Nev., for sample preparation, with analytical work performed by ALS in Vancouver, B.C. Samples were analyzed using ALS method ME-MS61L, a four-acid digestion with ICP-MS (inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry) analysis. Samples returning copper values above the analytical range were analyzed using ALS method Cu-OG62, an ore-grade four-acid digestion method. Sample SP002 returned 1.155 per cent Cu by Cu-OG62. Grab samples are selective by nature and may not be representative of mineralization across the project.

About Copper One Resources Corp.

Copper One Resources is focused on identifying, acquiring and advancing high-potential copper, copper-silver-gold and copper-molybdenum projects to help meet the growing global demand for critical metals required for electrification, AI infrastructure and data centres, renewable energy, defence, and the modernization of power systems.

The company's flagship asset is the Majuba Hill copper-silver-gold district, located approximately 156 miles (251 kilometres) from Reno, Nev. Majuba Hill is an exploration-stage porphyry copper project situated in a premier mining jurisdiction with excellent infrastructure, where continuing exploration is focused on evaluating the scale and continuity of a large copper-silver-gold mineralized system.

Copper One also owns a 100-per-cent interest in the Redonda copper-molybdenum project, located northeast of Campbell River in British Columbia's Vancouver mining division. The district-scale project comprises approximately 2,746.46 hectares (6,786 acres) across nine mineral claims and hosts a porphyry-style copper-molybdenum system within the highly prospective Coast Suture zone, a geological belt known for significant porphyry copper and skarn mineralization. The company believes Redonda has the potential to become a significant long-term exploration asset as systematic exploration continues to evaluate the scale and continuity of the mineralized system.

In addition, Copper One holds an option to earn up to a 100-per-cent interest in the Redhill property, located south of Ashcroft, B.C., adjacent to the Trans-Canada Highway. The 4,736-hectare (11,704-acre) property hosts volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralization prospective for copper, zinc, silver and gold, while also demonstrating potential for epithermal gold mineralization.

Subject to completion of the proposed transaction, Copper One will also own the Sport project in Utah, expanding the company's portfolio of North American copper exploration assets.

Copper One is advancing its portfolio through systematic exploration, modern geological odelling, and disciplined technical evaluation. The company remains committed to responsible exploration practices, technical transparency and creating long-term shareholder value through disciplined exploration and the advancement of critical metals projects across North America.

We seek Safe Harbor.
