The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Feb. 13, edition that Canaccord Genuity analyst Aravinda Galappatthige is keeping his "buy" call on Cineplex intact. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Galappatthige gave his share target a $3.50 boost to $14. Analysts on average target the shares at $13.83. Mr. Galappatthige says in a note: "In terms of outlook, we see an attractive thesis shaping up as we get to late 2025 with the film slate strengthening meaningfully starting in Q4/25, leading to what looks like an exceptional 2026 line up. In parallel, we see Cineplex's leverage ratio easing to more acceptable levels by year-end (2.6 times), which in turn sets the stage for stepped up shareholder returns (be it dividends or buy backs)." The Globe reported on Jan. 19, 2023, Feb. 9, 2023, and Jan. 17, 2025 that Mr. Galappatthige was sticking with his "buy" recommendation for Cineplex when it could be had for $7.92, $8.91 and $10.98.
