The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Sept. 18, edition that Ventum Capital Markets analyst Rob Goff is keeping his "buy" call and $106 share target on Calian Group intact. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that analysts on average target the shares at $104.60. Mr. Goff praised Calian Group's partnership with Ukrainian tech firm SkyFall to enhance drone-enabled defence training, highlighting the Ottawa-based consulting firm's potential to pursue larger defence programs. Mr. Goff says in a note: "We are encouraged by management's clearly articulated strategy of expanding Calian's scale and capabilities through both organic investment and acquisitions. Initiatives such as the SkyFall partnership, Raytheon partnership, and the Canadian Arctic Maritime Security Consortium (CAMSC), alongside the Galaxy Broadband acquisition, strengthen Calian's ability to pursue larger and more complex defence contracts. ... SkyFall will effectively provide Calian with specialized knowledge around drone operations, which Calian can incorporate into its broader military training offering as unmanned systems become increasingly important to NATO training and operational readiness."
