CANADA ONE ANNOUNCES 2026 SUMMER EXPLORATION RESULTS AT COPPER DOME
Canada One Mining Corp. has provided the results of its 2026 summer exploration program conducted at its 100-per-cent-owned Copper Dome project in Princeton, B.C.
2026 summer field program highlights:
-
16 field stations established across the property, with full geological and sampling metadata recorded;
-
11 rock samples collected from the Friday Creek, Camp zone, Reco zone and Copper Dome South areas;
-
Camp zone sampling returned up to 4.08 grams per tonne gold, 27.70 grams per tonne silver, 3.92 per cent copper and 2.13 grams per tonne palladium from sample C0066680;
-
Copper Dome South fieldwork identified a diabase unit containing minor disseminated pyrite and trace chalcopyrite, with biotite plus or minus quartz stringers also observed;
-
Friday Creek was revisited to review historic sample locations and assess existing mineralized outcrops for future exploration.
Peter Berdusco, president and chief executive officer of the company, commented:
"We are excited to have completed our 2026 summer reconnaissance rock sampling program at the Copper Dome project. This program was focused on documenting and evaluating mineral showings across the property to help refine targets and guide future exploration. At Copper Dome South, we identified a previously unrecognized rock type along with copper enrichment that warrants systematic follow-up. We are encouraged by these observations and believe the information gathered through this program will be valuable as we continue to refine our exploration strategy and plan the next phase of work at Copper Dome this fall."
Exploration summary
The 2026 exploration program at the Copper Dome project consisted of reconnaissance geological mapping and targeted rock sampling designed to evaluate known mineralized areas, investigate less-explored Minfile occurrences and identify additional exploration targets. Fieldwork focused on established mineralized areas as well as portions of the property that have received limited modern exploration.
The Camp zone is located at the historic core shack and core storage area, directly off the Crowsnest Highway. Three historic drill holes were completed in this area, which also hosts core storage from historic drilling across the property. Field crews traversed the area and identified several outcrops with visible copper oxide staining that were sampled. Host rocks include biotite-altered diorite with mineralized K-feldspar veining containing chalcopyrite. Sample C0066680 returned 4.08 grams per tonne gold, 27.70 grams per tonne silver and 3.92 per cent copper (see Table 1).
At Friday Creek, field crews revisited the principal mineralized outcrops to review historic sample locations and assess the area for potential future exploration. At Copper Dome South, the program identified a diabase unit containing minor disseminated pyrite and trace chalcopyrite. Biotite plus or minus quartz stringers were also observed in one sample and may indicate geological context for potassic alteration and associated mineralization in the area.
The program also included an assessment of existing road access across the property to evaluate current conditions and suitability for future exploration activities. The 2026 fieldwork provides additional geological and sampling information from several areas of the Copper Dome project, including the relatively underexplored Copper Dome South zone. The results will be used to help prioritize future exploration, including detailed geological mapping, systematic prospecting and follow-up geochemical sampling.
All rock samples collected from the 2026 fieldwork program were submitted to ALS Geochemistry (Kamloops) and analyzed for gold and platinum group elements (50-gram fire assay) and multielement geochemistry, including the elements copper, lead, zinc, cobalt and silver (method ME-MS61).
About the Copper Dome project
Copper Dome is located in the lower Quesnel Trough porphyry belt, one of British Columbia's most prolific mining districts. The project directly adjoins Hudbay Minerals Inc.'s producing Copper Mountain mine to the north, which the company reports as having proven and probable reserves of approximately 367 million tonnes at 0.25 per cent copper, 0.12 gram per tonne gold and 0.69 gram per tonne silver (Hudbay Minerals, 2023). Multiple mineralized zones have been identified across the property, with historical drilling confirming high-grade copper associated with northeast-trending structures similar to those hosting mineralization at Copper Mountain.
The technical and scientific information regarding the adjacent Copper Mountain mine is sourced from Hudbay Minerals' published reports. Mineralization at Copper Mountain should not be considered indicative of the mineralization on the Copper Dome project.
The Copper Dome project benefits from excellent infrastructure, enabling year-round access, cost-efficient exploration and a stable, low-risk jurisdiction.
Historical work completed:
-
Geophysics: 51 kilometres of induced polarization (IP), airborne magnetic and electromagnetic (EM) coverage over approximately 50 per cent of the property;
-
Sampling: 2,253 soils and 378 rocks collected;
-
Drilling: greater than 8,900 metres of diamond drilling;
-
Trenching: over one kilometre excavated.
With a five-year drill permit in place, the company is focused on advancing the project toward drill-ready target definition.
