The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Aug. 27, edition that provinces, save for Alberta nor Saskatchewan, have been boycotting United States alcohol for about a year. The Globe's triple-bylined item led by Carrie Tait reports that Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe, on Wednesday, however, said because the United States imposed a 50-per-cent tariff on Canadian booze, he will introduce a mirroring levy on American alcohol. Mr. Moe said, "It will be good for our Saskatchewan producers with domestic and local sales." Alberta Premier Dannielle Smith, however, does not have immediate plans to follow Mr. Moe's example on alcohol, stating only that she would consider suggestions.
