ORIGINAL: Centenario Gold Announces the Start up of it's Maiden Drill Program at the Los Reyes Copper, Moly, Gold Skarn System

2026-09-28 12:46 ET - News Release

(via TheNewswire)

Centenario Gold Corp.

September 29th, 2026 – TheNewswire - Vancouver, B.C. - Centenario Gold Corp. (CSE: CTG) ( " Centenario ” or the “ Company ” ) is pleased to announce that the drill program on the Company’s Los Reyes Project (the “ Project” ) is now underway. The Los Reyes Project is a highly prospective copper and gold asset located near the city of Chihuahua, Mexico.

The Los Reyes project sits along a N-NW regional mineralized corridor that hosts some of the most important historical mines in the state of Chihuahua, old mines such as Santa Eulalia (Grupo Mexico/IMMSA) and Naica (Penoles), skarn type mineral deposits that have the same geological setting and similar style of mineralization found at Los Reyes (see Figure 1. Location map of the Los Reyes Project below).

This drill program is a follow up to the first phase exploration work that included mapping and sampling of the old mine dumps and underground workings over Los Reyes’s ‘El Rey’ concession. The exploration work was completed in May of this year (see News Release dated June 10 th , 2026).

These exploration results, from surface and underground mapping and sampling, have enabled the Company to better understand the orientation, extent and controls of the mineralized system at Los Reyes, facilitating the fine tuning of the location, orientation and depth of the proposed drill holes.

This initial drilling program, which consists of 5 to 6 holes between 200 meters and 500 meters in depth, totalling  approximatly 1,500 meters, will focus on testing the >100m depth extensions of the high-grade Cu-Zn-Ag skarn zone that ASARCO previously mined at the Jibosa Shaft and the Tueda Shaft zones (see Figure. 2. and Photo A ) . These drill targets are located along the N-S trending mineralized skarn zone that has been recognized on the El Rey claim block.

The underground rock sampling at the Jibosa Shaft zone, located 200 meters south of the Tueda shaft zone, returned significant copper values, up to 27.9% Cu, a 1.3 meter wide, high-grade sample taken across a fracture zone, 20 meters underground (see News Release dated June 10 th , 2026). The Jibosa Shaft target appears to be the upper/outer portion of a semi-vertical Cu rich skarn zone potentially extending to significant depth (see Figure 3. Schematic section map of the Los Reyes Project ) . The ongoing drilling program is especially designed to test this extension.

Based on the extent of the mine workings and the underground rock samples results obtained from the Tueda Shaft Zone, which contains anomalous Au and significant Mo values up to 2.1% (see News Release dated June 10 th , 2026), it is our understanding that the mineralized system at the Tueda Shaft zone, although a bit different than the one seen at the Jibosa Shaft zone, is lower down in the system ( see Figure 3. Schematic Section map of the Los Reyes Project). The ongoing drilling program is also designed to test this extension further at depth.
