EMERA WELCOMES NEW BOARD DIRECTOR

Emera Inc. has appointed Isabelle Courville to Emera's board of directors.

"On behalf of the Emera board, my colleagues and I are delighted to welcome Isabelle to the team," said Karen Sheriff, chair of Emera. "Our board will benefit greatly from her distinguished track record as a corporate director and senior executive in regulated industries, specifically the energy and telecommunications sectors."

Ms. Courville is the former president of Hydro-Quebec Distribution and Hydro-Quebec TransEnergie. Previously, she served as president of Bell Canada's enterprise group and president and chief executive officer of Bell Nordiq.

Ms. Courville has extensive experience as a board director in both public and private companies and across a variety of sectors. She has been the chair of Canadian Pacific Kansas City since 2019, an appointment that made her the first woman to chair the board of a Class 1 railway in North America.

She is the former chair of the board of Laurentian Bank and previously sat on the board of TVA Group, the owner and operator of Canada's largest private French-language television network. She also served as a director of SNC-Lavalin Group Inc., Gecina SA, a France-based real estate investment trust, and Miranda Technologies, a world-leading provider of hardware and software solutions for the television broadcast, cable, satellite and IPTV (Internet protocol television) industry.

Currently, Ms. Courville is a member of the board of Veolia Environment SA, a French multinational specializing in water and waste management, and energy services. She is also a director of the Institute for Governance of Private and Public Organizations.

Ms. Courville earned a degree in engineering physics from Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal and holds a bachelor's degree in civil law from McGill University. In 2021, she received the Institute of Corporate Directors' fellowship designation.
