Generation Uranium acquires Yath Extension project

2026-01-13 20:18 ET - News Release

Mr. Michael Collins reports

GENERATION URANIUM SIGNS NEW AGREEMENT ON THE YATH EXTENSION PROJECT.

Generation Uranium Inc. has signed a new agreement to acquire the Yath Extension property, a strategic expansion that enhances the company's footprint in the Angilak uranium district of Nunavut.

On Dec. 15, 2025, Generation Uranium entered into a definitive purchase agreement with arm's-length vendors to acquire 100-per-cent ownership of the Yath Extension property. The acquisition adds 4,123.94 hectares across five claims, increasing the total size of the Yath project to approximately 18,214.87 hectares. This agreement reduces share payments by six million shares and break share payments into two tranches over two years (full agreement terms described below).

Geological highlights

The Yath Extension property is underlain by Archean basement rocks of the Kaminak Group, known to host uranium-copper mineralization within quartz-vein stockworks and brecciated zones. Historical mapping and sampling confirm the presence of narrow, high-grade mineralized shears and fractures, with sharp boundaries of mineralization.

SC-13 zone:

  • Historical trench A: metres averaging 0.82 pound per ton U3O8; peak sample SC13-A4 returned 0.188 per cent U3O8 with zones of 80,000 CPS;
  • Historical trench B: 8.4 metres averaging 1.79 pound per ton U3O8; peak sample SC13-B3 returned 0.52 per cent U3O8, with zones of 75,000 CPS;
  • Mineralization includes calcite, pitchblende, hematite, pyrite and chalcopyrite. A float sample exhibited 10.1 per cent Na2O and 0.26 per cent uranium (U), indicating distinct sodium-rich alteration signature.

PWR area:

  • Historical VLF (very-low-frequency) conductors remain unexplained;
  • Quartz-carbonate vein systems with brecciated host rock and moderate pyrite mineralization observed.

Fox Lake:

  • A float boulder sample showed the same sodium alteration signature observed at SC-13 zone, suggesting the potential for a similar exploration target at Fox Lake.

Strategic significance

This acquisition strengthens Generation's control over key structural corridors extending across the Yath basin and aligns with the company's objective to advance high-priority exploration targets within a proven uranium district.

Michael Collins, chief executive officer of Generation Uranium, commented: "The acquisition of these claims expands on our core holdings in the Yathkyed basin and targeted Kaminak Group rocks in the basin margin, meaningfully [expanding] our Yath project and our strategic position within Nunavut's uranium belt. The additional high-value targets complement our existing portfolio and reinforce our focus on systematic exploration and discovery."

Transaction summary:

  • Vendors will receive 14 million common shares of Generation Uranium over two years in equal tranches of seven million shares on exchange approval and seven million on the one-year anniversary of the signing of the agreement;
  • Cash payment of $60,000 upon closing;
  • 2-per-cent net smelter return (NSR) royalty will be granted;
  • Completion remains subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval and applicable resale restrictions.
