Mr. Christopher Anderson reports
GREAT ATLANTIC IDENTIFIES GOLD MINERALIZATION ALONG 135 METRE CORRIDOR AT ITS 100% OWNED GOLDEN PROMISE PROPERTY
Great Atlantic Resources Corp.'s wholly owned subsidiary, Golden Promise Mines Inc., has received gold assays for rock samples collected during the 2025 trenching program at the company's 100-per-cent-owned Golden promise property, central Newfoundland.
"The occurrence of highly anomalous gold across multiple trench locations, together with the associated copper geochemistry, demonstrates additional areas for us to target beyond the current defined resource at Golden promise," states Anderson, president and chief executive officer of Great Atlantic Resources. "With numerous gold-bearing occurrences across the property and land package, systemic work in these areas remains an important part of our resource expansion and discovery strategy."
Five rock grab samples from a section of 2025 trench No. 2 returned gold values of 0.531 gram/tonne (g/t) to 1.004 g/t (excavated rubble, subcrop and bedrock). These results plus gold assays for rock grab samples from three other nearby 2024 and 2025 trenches confirm sporadic gold mineralization over a northeast-southwest corridor at least 135 metres in length.
Four trenches were excavated during the 2025 trenching program by Golden Promise Mines within the southwest region of the Golden promise property (in licence 036105M). Two of the trenches (2025 trench numbers 1 and 2) were excavated near two 2024 trenches (2024 trench numbers 1 and 2) with these four subparallel trenches covering a northeast to southwest distance of approximately 130 metres. Rock samples containing copper mineralization and highly anomalous levels for gold were previously collected by Golden Promise Mines during 2024 and 2025 at these 2024 trench sites including bedrock grab samples exceeding 1 per cent copper and up to 1.008 g/t gold in a narrow zone in 2024 trench No. 1 (see Great Atlantic news releases of Feb. 12, 2025; Sept. 4, 2025; and Sept. 10, 2026, for details of this sampling).
Rock samples were collected during 2025 at the four 2025 trenches, with samples collected from rubble excavated from the trenches and from subcrop and bedrock within the trenches.
Seven rock grab samples collected within an approximately 17 metres long section in the southern half of 2025 trench No. 2 returned highly anomalous values for gold (0.289 to 1.004 g/t), these samples collected from pieces of highly oxidized (some crumbly) and altered rubble and similar material in subcrop and bedrock. Most of these samples contain pyrite in variable amounts. Chalcopyrite was noted in one sample from this material. These samples are:
- 36105-25-66: 830 parts per billion gold (0.830 g/t) (collected from a piece of highly oxidized and altered rubble within the trench (float or subcrop) with pyrite);
- 36105-25-67: 572 ppb gold (0.572 g/t) (collected from a piece of highly oxidized and silicified excavated rubble (possible float) with quartz veining and pyrite);
- 36105-25-73: 667 ppb gold (0.667 g/t) (collected from a piece of highly oxidized, crumbly and silicified excavated rubble (possible float) with abundant pyrite and some chalcopyrite);
- 36105-25-74: 471 ppb gold (0.471 g/t) (collected from a piece of highly oxidized and crumbly excavated rubble (possible float));
- 36105-25-76: 1,004 ppb gold (1.004 g/t) (collected from multiple pieces of highly oxidized and silicified subcrop with abundant pyrite at the bottom of the trench);
- 36105-25-77: 531 ppb gold (0.531 g/t) (collected from bedrock at the bottom of the trench consisting of highly oxidized and crumbly rock (possible fault) with abundant pyrite);
- 36105-25-78: 289 ppb gold (0.289 g/t) (collected from multiple pieces of highly oxidized, pyrite-bearing excavated rubble (possible float)).
Of note sample 36105-25-61, a grab sample collected from bedrock of siliceous or silicified metasediment with pyrite, returned an anomalous gold value of 119 ppb. This sample was collected within the northern region of 2025 trench No. 2.
Some rock samples from 2025 trench numbers 1, 3 and 4 returned anomalous gold values. Trench No. 1 was excavated approximately 75 metres northeast of 2025 trench No. 2 and between 2024 trench numbers 1 and 2. Four samples from 2025 trench No. 1 exceeded 200 parts per billion gold (greater than 0.2 g/t Au). These samples are:
- 36105-25-53: 252 ppb gold (0.252 g/t) (collected from metasediment subcrop within the trench with pyrite-bearing quartz veins);
- 36105-25-54: 269 ppb gold (0.269 g/t) (collected from a piece of rubble excavated from the trench (possible float) consisting of dark-grey-black shale with pyrite-bearing quartz veins);
- 36105-25-55: 315 ppb gold (0.315 g/t) (collected from subcrop in bottom of the trench consisting of partially silicified metasediment with pyrite bearing quartz veins). Located approximately three metres south of 36105-25-53;
- 36105-25-60: 203 ppb gold (0.203 g/t) (collected from highly oxidized, crumbly and partially silicified metasediment subcrop with pyrite in northeast wall of the trench).
Trench No. 3 and 4 of the 2025 program were excavated approximately 120 to 210 metres south-southwest of 2025 trench No. 2. Three grab samples from these trenches exceeded 100 ppb for gold (greater than 0.1 g/t). A grab sample of silicified metasediment bedrock with pyrite from trench No. 3 returned 149 ppb gold (0.149 g/t) while a subcrop grab sample of similar material at the same location returned 132 ppb gold (0.132 g/t). A grab sample of metasediment subcrop with quartz veining from trench No. 4 returned 110 ppb gold (0.110 g/t).
The 2025 rock samples from the 2025 trench sites discussed in this news release were analyzed by Eastern Analytical Ltd., a certified laboratory independent of Golden Promise Mines and Great Atlantic. The samples were analyzed for gold by fire assay -- AA (30-gram subsamples from -- 150-mesh pulverized fractions). These samples were also analyzed for 34 elements. This involved total dissolving of 200-milligram subsamples from the pulverized fractions and analysis by ICP-OES. The multielement analytical results for most of the samples are pending.
Management of Golden Promise Mines are planning additional exploration work within the area of the 2024 and 2025 trenches discussed in this news release including geophysical surveys and additional trenching to assist in planning a diamond drilling program for this target area.
The Golden Promise property hosts gold-bearing quartz veins in various regions of the property, including the Jaclyn zone quartz vein systems, Shawn's Shot quartz vein, Otter Brook occurrence, Linda/Snow White quartz vein system and the Gabbro zone occurrence. The property is located within the Exploits subzone of the Newfoundland Dunnage zone. It is located approximately 50 kilometres northeast of the Valentine gold mine of Equinox Gold Corp., which is also located within the Exploits subzone. The Golden Promise property is the largest and most advanced of seven central Newfoundland gold properties owned by Golden Promise Mines. One of these properties (Golden Trust) is located within one kilometre of the Valentine gold mine of Equinox Gold Corp. Readers are warned that mineralization at the Valentine gold mine is not necessarily indicative of mineralization at the Golden promise property or any of the other central Newfoundland gold properties of Golden Promise Mines.
