Mr. Douglas Dyment reports
GATEKEEPER REPORTS MDC SUBSCRIBER GROWTH OF 93% TO 7,700 DURING FISCAL YEAR 2026; MDC INSTALLED BASE NOW 72,000
Gatekeeper Systems Inc. has provided an operational update on mobile data collectors installed and subscribed at the end of the company's fiscal year, Aug. 31, 2026.
The
number of MDC subscriptions to the company's data centre offerings grew from approximately 4,000 to 7,700
during the company's fiscal year ended Aug. 31, 2026. The company's data centre offerings are monthly recurring subscriptions to a suite of video analytic and storage solutions including live view wireless, student protector, passenger protector, remote monitoring and video storage.
The company also reports over 7,000 MDCs were installed on school buses and transit vehicles during the fiscal year, with the majority being installed on school buses. The aggregate installed base of customer-owned Gatekeeper MDCs is now estimated at approximately 72,000.
Doug Dyment, president and chief executive officer of Gatekeeper, commented: "Since launching our data centre in February, 2024, we have witnessed steady adoption of our recurring revenue offerings, which we continue to improve in response to our customers' needs. Our customers value the simplicity of choosing Gatekeeper for video analysis and storage, which is driven by the increasing use of video, rising costs of video storage and the overall complexity of manually conducting video reviews. Our centralized data centre approach simplifies the customer's capital infrastructure cost burden into a simple operating budget recurring revenue subscription model, and it also significantly reduces the time required to get a customer's video system fully operational. The data centre is integrated with Gatekeeper's AI-assisted video analytics software tools for incident flagging and adherence to privacy laws for video storage of school student images, and allowing customers to generate video snippets, blur facial images, analyze video and more."
