Bighorn Metals plans fall exploration at Marietta

2026-11-03 09:30 ET - News Release

Mr. Reno Calabrigo reports

BIGHORN METALS CORP. ANNOUNCES PLANNING FOR FALL 2026 PHASE I EXPLORATION PROGRAM AT MARETTA PROJECT

Planning has commenced for Bighorn Metals Corp.'s initial fall 2026 phase I exploration program at the Marietta project, located within Mineral county, Nevada, in the Silver Star mining district in the Excelsior Mountains. The phase I program is intended to expand upon and verify historical exploration work undertaken by previous operators and generate modern geological data to support planning for a potential phase II follow-up drilling program.

Planned phase I exploration program

The planned phase I program will include the compilation and review of available historical data and records; reconnaissance prospecting; geological mapping; surface trenching; and sampling of historical workings, including surface and underground workings and mine dumps. The company also plans to locate and map historical workings across the project.

Additional work is expected to include a comprehensive soil survey, together with examination and sampling of selected rock exposures throughout the project. The objective is to develop a more consistent and reliable modern data set to help prioritize targets for potential follow-up exploration and drilling.

Marietta project background

The project hosts numerous historical workings, including underground workings with multilevel vertical shafts, adits at various levels, declines and prospect pits developed along geological structures. An existing road network provides access to numerous historical workings.

Historical mining and sampling activities have reported indications of gold, silver, copper and rare earth elements on the project. These historical observations require confirmation through the company's planned modern exploration work and should not be interpreted as evidence of a current mineral resource or economic viability.

Independent technical report

The company has engaged Gregory C. Ferdock, MSc, qualified person, CPG, to prepare an independent technical report in accordance with National Instrument 43-101, Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects, in respect of the project. A site visit is being co-ordinated as part of the technical report preparation process.

Qualified person

The scientific and technical information and interpretations in this news release have been reviewed and approved by Mr. Ferdock, a consultant to the company and an independent qualified person as defined under NI 43-101, Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects. Mr. Ferdock has not yet completed a site visit or verified the historical information referred to in this news release, which is historical in nature and should not be relied upon.

About Bighorn Metals Corp.

The company is an exploration-stage natural resource company engaged in the evaluation, acquisition and exploration of mineral properties, with a view to advancing prospective mineral properties through exploration and evaluation. The company's current mineral property interests are the Marietta project in Nevada and the Loljuh project in British Columbia.

Marietta project, Nevada

The company holds an exploration lease with an option to acquire a 100-per-cent undivided interest in the Marietta project. The Property is in the Silver Star mining district in the Excelsior Mountains, Mineral county, Nevada. It is made up of 12 patented lode mining claims and an adjoining town-site parcel, which together cover parts of sections 29 through 32, Township 5 North, Range 33 East, Mount Diablo Meridian.

Loljuh project, British Columbia

The company holds an option to acquire the Loljuh porphyry copper-gold project. The Loljuh project is one claim covering 1,656.73 hectares in the Omineca mining division of central British Columbia. It is about 40 kilometres south of Smithers and 32 kilometres west of Houston. The Loljuh project is prospective for porphyry copper-gold mineralization.

Geochemical work in 2019 outlined several areas of anomalous gold and copper in soil. The surveys were widespread, with lines 400 metres apart and samples taken on 200-metre centres. Rock sampling in 2019 also returned anomalous copper and gold values from several sites within the plateau area. The aeromagnetic survey outlined several areas of alteration.
