KILLAM APARTMENT REIT ANNOUNCES 2026 GRESB SCORE
Killam Apartment Real Estate Investment Trust has released its 2026 GRESB score, based on the 2025 reporting year. Killam achieved a score of 83.9 out of a maximum possible 100 for its standing investments, representing a 2.2-point year-over-year improvement in its environmental, social and governance performance.
"Sustainability has long been embedded in how we operate, invest capital and plan for the future," said Philip Fraser, president and chief executive officer. "We approach ESG the same way we approach all our business decisions, with a focus on long-term performance, accountability and doing the right thing."
Killam's key initiatives contributing to this achievement include:
-
Energy and emission reductions: achieved year-over-year reductions in energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions across the portfolio;
- Renewable energy installations: installed solar photovoltaic systems at 13 additional buildings during the year, increasing on-site renewable energy generation capacity;
-
Waste management improvements: improved recycling practices through participation in a voluntary recycling program in New Brunswick.
