TORONTO -- (Business Wire)
Kontrol Technologies Corp. (CBOE.CA: KNR) (OTCQB: KNRLF) (FSE: 1K8) (“Kontrol” or the “Company”), announces that it has been awarded approximately $600,000 in new building projects with new customers.
New Customer Wins
The Company has secured new project awards across integrated HVAC and building systems for commercial and multi-residential customers. These awards represent new customer relationships for Kontrol, expanding the Company’s client base and reinforcing its reputation as a trusted provider of building technology solutions in Ontario.
The ability to win new customers in a competitive market demonstrates the growing demand for Kontrol’s integrated approach to building systems. Each new customer relationship creates the foundation for recurring service revenue, maintenance agreements, and future project opportunities as buildings age and require ongoing upgrades.
Scaling in a Growing Market
Ontario presents a compelling growth environment for the Company. The province has one of the oldest commercial and institutional building stocks in Canada, with a significant portion of buildings constructed before modern energy codes were established. These aging buildings require substantial upgrades to meet current efficiency standards, reduce operating costs, and comply with evolving regulatory requirements.
Kontrol is well positioned to capture this demand. The Company’s integrated approach — combining HVAC engineering, controls, and energy management — allows it to deliver turnkey solutions that address the full scope of a building’s efficiency needs.
Like most Canadian businesses, Kontrol was impacted in 2025 by the slowing of the Canadian economy and tariff uncertainty. However, the Company continues to execute on its plans with no current need to raise capital.
Disciplined Acquisition Strategy
Kontrol continues to actively evaluate acquisition opportunities that meet its strategic and financial criteria. The Company is focused on acquiring HVAC and HVAC-related businesses which are primarily driven by service revenues with established customer bases. These types of businesses generate repeat income through maintenance contracts and service agreements and provide the opportunity for cross-selling Kontrol’s broader building technology and energy management capabilities.
The Company continues to be selective about which opportunities it will close based on due diligence performed. Kontrol will only proceed with transactions that deliver meaningful value to shareholders and align with its long-term strategy of building a scalable, service-oriented platform in the building services sector.
Management Commentary
“Winning $600,000 in new building projects with new customers is a strong signal that our integrated approach to building systems is resonating in the market,” said Paul Ghezzi, President and CEO of Kontrol Technologies. “Every new customer we bring on expands our recurring revenue potential and deepens our presence in Ontario’s building services sector. We are scaling this business with discipline — growing our customer base organically while continuing to evaluate acquisitions that complement our capabilities.”
