Mr. Al Kroontje reports
LITHIUM CHILE ANNOUNCES THE RESIGNATION OF CEO AND DIRECTOR
Steven Cochrane has tendered his resignation as the president and chief executive officer and as a director of Lithium Chile Inc. effective Sept. 29, 2026.
The board of directors of Lithium Chile would like to express their unqualified and sincere appreciation to Mr. Cochrane for his significant contributions to the company. The company is grateful for his dedication and commitment to Lithium Chile and its shareholders. Mr. Cochrane's decision was guided by retirement ambitions.
Al Kroontje, Lithium Chile's chairperson, will assume Mr. Cochrane's responsibilities on an interim basis.
Commenting on Mr. Cochrane's decision, Mr. Kroontje commented:
"Steve dedicated the final nine years of his professional career to the advancement of Lithium Chile. He made the decision to tender his resignation on his own and with the company's best interest in mind. It is significant that he and his team delivered a PEA on an outstanding asset in Argentina that generated exceedingly robust economics. This is simply not something to be taken for granted -- and not something that occurs regularly in the world of mineral exploration. The circumstances surrounding the potential sale of Arizaro -- for the benefit of all of Lithium Chile's shareholders -- are unfortunate. With that in mind, I am hopeful that all of Lithium Chile's shareholders will join me in expressing sincere and heartfelt gratitude for Steve's unwavering dedication to Lithium Chile."
Mr. Cochrane commented: "The latest setback with respect to the government of Canada's decision to review the transaction with China Union on our Arizaro project made me realize it was time for new ideas and eyes to focus on advancing the Arizaro project. My nine years with Lithium Chile have been challenging but rewarding at the same time. I would sincerely like to thank everyone on the LITH team in Canada, Chile and Argentina for their dedication and hard work in creating a world class lithium asset.
"
