ORIGINAL: MindBio Completes Manufacture of Next-Generation Voice AI Intoxication Detection Kiosk. Advances Software Validation & Testing Towards In Preparation for First Commercial Pilot.

2026-10-14 09:43 ET - News Release

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MindBio Therapeutics Corp. (CSE: MBIO; Frankfurt: WF6; OTCQB: MBQIF) (the “Company” or “MindBio”), a biotechnology company advancing the commercialisation of AI-driven voice analytics for drug and alcohol intoxication detection, is pleased to announce that it has completed the manufacture of its next-generation Edge AI Intoxication Detection Kiosk.

The newly manufactured hardware kiosk improves on an initial prototype produced in June this year. The new hardware is designed to support MindBio's proprietary Voice AI intoxication detection technology. The Company is continuing to refine, integrate and test its software, which analyses characteristics of the human voice to predict potential impairment associated with drug and alcohol consumption.

MindBio is working towards completion of software integration and system testing in preparation for initial commercial piloting, representing a significant step in the Company's transition from technology development towards real-world commercial validation.

Targeting a Scalable, Non-Invasive Alternative to Conventional Drug and Alcohol Testing

MindBio's Edge AI Intoxication Detection Kiosk is being developed to provide a rapid, non-invasive and scalable approach to screening for potential drug and alcohol intoxication using artificial intelligence and voice analytics.

The Company continues to test and validate its predictive AI models against established drug and alcohol testing methods, including breath alcohol testing and oral fluid (cheek swab) testing, with the objective of evaluating the technology's accuracy, reliability and suitability for commercial applications.

MindBio is targeting industries where workplace safety, regulatory obligations and the need for large-scale drug and alcohol screening create significant operational and financial challenges. These include mining, aviation, construction, heavy transport, law enforcement and other safety-critical environments.

Traditional drug and alcohol testing methods can be labour-intensive, time-consuming, physically invasive and expensive to administer at scale. These challenges become particularly significant in industries employing large workforces that require regular or high-volume screening.

MindBio believes its Voice AI technology has the potential to transform workplace intoxication screening by enabling organisations to assess larger numbers of individuals more efficiently, at a potentially lower cost and with minimal physical intervention.

The Company's longer-term vision is to deliver an accessible, AI-powered screening solution that can be deployed across multiple workplace environments, supporting more frequent screening, improved operational efficiency and enhanced workplace safety.

By reducing the time, cost and logistical barriers associated with conventional testing, MindBio aims to make intoxication risk screening more accessible and scalable, ultimately contributing to the prevention of workplace accidents and injuries associated with drug and alcohol impairment.

MindBio's Chief Executive Officer, Justin Hanka, commented:

“We are making significant progress towards delivering an integrated hardware and software solution that has the potential to fundamentally change how organisations approach drug and alcohol intoxication screening.

“Our focus is on developing technology that can be deployed at scale, enabling businesses to screen more people, more frequently, in a fraction of the time and potentially at a significantly lower cost than conventional testing methods.

“The completion of our next-generation Edge AI Kiosk is an important milestone. We are now focused on validating our prediction models, integration of software and progressing towards a potential first commercial pilot later this year, where we intend to further evaluate the technology in a real-world operating environment against existing on-site testing methods.

“Our ambition is to develop a commercially scalable technology that not only addresses a significant global market opportunity but also helps organisations create safer workplaces and ultimately save lives.”
