The unionized employees of Metro Inc.'s produce distribution centre in Laval, transportation and head office, represented by STTEUMR (CSN), have ratified a new collective agreement, following the tentative agreement reached on Sept. 17, 2026.
The new collective agreement, which will be in effect for 5-1/2 years, brings an end to the labour dispute that began on March 30, 2026.
"We are pleased with the ratification of this new collective agreement, which establishes a stable and predictable framework for the coming years. We thank the teams who helped keep our operations running during the dispute, and we are now focusing our efforts on a gradual and safe resumption of operations," said Caroline Larocque, vice-president, logistics and distribution, Quebec, Metro.
Operations will resume gradually starting Sept. 27, 2026.
In the meantime, its stores continue to be well stocked to meet customers' needs.
Metro will provide any relevant updates on the financial impact of the labour dispute as part of its financial results announcements in accordance with its usual practices.
