The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Oct. 1, edition that Langsford Wealth Counsel money manager Chris Kerlow recently sold his Netflix holdings. The Globe's Brenda Bouw writes that Netflix, the Los Gatos, Calif.-based entertainment company, is a stock Mr. Kerlow sold in July after buying it in mid-March of last year. The stock started to sell off after it made a bid for Warner Bros. in December last year. Mr. Kelow says: "We thought it would probably lose that bid and, once it did, the stock could recover. That happened, but the stock has struggled to get back to where it was before the Warner Bros. offer." He adds, "Given the headwinds Netflix faces from competitors such as YouTube and its increased spending on original content, we decided to exit our position." The Globe reported on Aug. 14 that Pershing Square USA boss Bill Ackman was buying shares of Netflix. Mr. Ackman said believed Netflix's earnings were poised for strong growth. The shares could then be had for $29.39.
