The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday edition that despite inflation and interest rate hikes, analysts at National Bank Financial view metal prices positively, citing strong central bank buying, demand from China and India, a weakening greenback due to high debt levels, and geopolitical uncertainty. The Globe's David Leeder writes that National Bank analysts upgraded their price forecasts for all metals and foreign exchange rates. The analysts updated their long-term prices to reflect ongoing inflationary pressures and anticipated cost increases as mining companies optimize mine planning in a high commodity price environment. National analyst Rabi Nizami has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Omai Gold Mines. He continues to target the shares at $4. Analysts on average target the shares at $4.42. Mr. Nizami says in a note, "The Omai gold project is one of South America's largest past-producing gold mines and a clear buy-and-build M&A target that we believe should be of interest for producers looking for entry into the Guiana Shield." The Globe reported on Aug. 29, 2025, that Stifel analyst Cole McGill had commenced coverage on Omai Gold with a "buy" recommendation. It was then worth 87.5 cents.
