Vancouver, BC – TheNewswire - Aug 17 th , 2026 - Gold Orogen Resources Corp. (CSE:OROG) (the “Company” or “Gold Orogen”), is pleased to announce that it has received approval for its Class 1 Exploration Notification from the Government of Yukon for its Golden Culvert and WIN claim blocks. Additionally, Ross River Dena Council (“RRDC”) has given conditional consent to the project - and the Company is negotiating an Exploration Agreement (EA). The approved notification authorizes the Company to carry out an exploration program on the claims during the 2026 operating season ending October 31, 2026.
The Golden Culvert / WIN gold projects are situated southern end of the Tombstone Belt, 200km south of Snowline Gold, directly adjacent and north-east of 3 Aces (Seabridge Gold). The Company has identified several Reduced Intrusion Related Gold System (RIRGS) and sedimentary hosted orogenic targets. The plan is to focus attention on three of the targets.
Specifically:
1/ Border - RIRGS
2/Stingray – RIRGS
3/ Spine – Sedimentary hosted mineralization with sheeted quartz vein
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Up to 10 diamond drill holes planned, each targeting approximately 400 m depth
Helicopter-supported access only — minimal surface disturbance, zero new roads or trails
Program includes rock and soil sampling and geological mapping
Drill pads to be constructed above ground in low-vegetation areas
About the Approved Exploration Program
The next drill program represents the Company's third work season on the Golden Culvert and WIN gold projects and is designed as a targeted, low-impact reconnaissance and drill-testing initiative. All site access will be via helicopter, with no roads, trails, or mechanized ground vehicles involved. This approach minimizes environmental disturbance while maximizing geological data collection in what the Company believes to be a highly prospective area.
The approved activities include rock and soil sampling, geological mapping, and helicopter-supported diamond drilling of up to 10 holes at approximately 400 metres depth per hole. The drill program is specifically designed to test high potential RIRGS and sedimentary-hosted orogenic gold targets.
Why This Permit Is Significant
Receiving Class 1 approval from the Yukon Government is a key milestone for the Company, as it represents the regulatory green light required to advance from grassroots exploration into systematic drill testing. The permit covers a wide range of exploration activities under Schedule 1 of the Quartz Mining Land Use Regulation, providing the Company with the flexibility to adapt its field program as geological understanding evolves during the season.
Ross River Dena Council (“RRDC”) has provided conditional consent pending negotiation of an EA . The low-impact nature of the approved program reflects the Company's commitment to responsible mineral exploration and positions the Company favourably with respect to future regulatory approvals as the project advances.
Wendy T. Chan, CEO of Gold Orogen states "The upcoming drill program represents Gold Orogen's first systematic drill test of its RIRGS targets on the Golden Culvert and WIN properties. These targets have been validated through surface work but remain undrilled, presenting what the Company believes to be a significant discovery opportunity. Intrusion-related gold systems in the Yukon have been responsible for substantial gold discoveries in recent years (over 20 million ounces), underscoring the prospectivity of the region. With the drill permit in hand, Gold Orogen is positioned to unlock value for shareholders.
ABOUT GOLD OROGEN
As the Resulting Issuer of the February 2026 reverse-take-over of Great Republic Mining (CSE:GRM) by Gold Orogen Exploration Corp (formerly named 1475039 B.C. Ltd. and a subsidiary of Lode Gold (TSXV:LOD), Gold Orogen is an early-stage exploration pure play with quality assets in the Yukon and New Brunswick, Canada. Optionality exists as assets are diversified on two mineral belts that are known to have prolific gold endowment.
New Brunswick Assets - During late 2024, a joint venture was formed between subsidiary company 1475039 and the Company’s 19.9% strategic investor to create one of the largest land packages in New Brunswick, consisting of an area spanning 445 km 2 with a 44 km strike. The McIntyre Brook and Riley Brook properties sit on a highly prospective belt that has seen many exciting discoveries including Dalradian, New Found Gold and Calibre Mining. The Kinross-Puma joint venture project surrounds McIntyre Brook.
Yukon Assets - The Golden Culvert / WIN properties sit on the southern end of the Tombstone Belt which in recent years has seen extensive exploration success. It has Reduced Intrusion-Related Gold Systems (RIRGS) targets and sedimentary hosted orogenic mineralization. Over 4,500 m has been drilled with 50 gram meter intercepts. *Cautionary note: This is not a true width calculation as the true attitude of the mineralized body is unknown at this time.
