The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Sept. 16, edition that Raymond James analyst Steven Li has moved his recommendation for Quebecor to "outperform" from "market perform." The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Li gave his share target a $3 boost to $75. Analysts on average target the shares at $73.88. Mr. Li says in a note: "Quebecor shares have pulled back 7 per cent since its earnings report. ... With wireless momentum continuing in the East and 'Go West' imminent, we believe there is enough catalysts to drive shares higher to our target price. ... 'Go West' comes next. Densification investments in Western Canada have been ramping for some time even if there have been some delays (e.g. Vancouver leasing for building rooftops have taken longer, etc.) but we are almost there. Based on conversations with management, we expect Freedom to be in Vancouver by Black Friday (already in Calgary and Edmonton) and that will be the first real test potentially of whether Quebecor can take wireless share outside Ontario at scale. We note the combined population of Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton is 6.6 million, which is just slightly less than the GTA's population of roughly 6.7 to 7.1 million (depends on exact region)."
