QUARTERHILL SELECTED TO SUPPORT LA METRO EXPRESSLANES BACK OFFICE MODERNIZATION PROGRAM

Quarterhill Inc. has been selected as a subcontractor to BRiC-TPS, LLC in the implementation of Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (Metro) new ExpressLanes' back office system (BOS) to support Metro ExpressLanes Operations and Maintenance on the interstate freeways: I-10, I-110, I-105 and future corridors. Quarterhill's subcontract with BRiC-TPS, LLC is valued at approximately $28.2-million.

Metro serves Los Angeles county, one of the most populous counties in the nation, with nearly 10 million residents. The award further expands Quarterhill's presence in California following the company's recently announced work with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and reinforces its commitment to supporting mission-critical transportation infrastructure for agencies across the U.S.

Under the agreement, Quarterhill will support BRiC-TPS, LLC in delivering the modernization and support, inclusive of an eight-year base term and two three-year option periods for up to 14 years of Metro's ExpressLanes back-office environment. The program encompasses core tolling operations, customer account and transaction management, financial and operational reporting, system integrations, and ongoing maintenance and support services. Quarterhill will contribute project management and documentation support, security compliance oversight, on-site customer service centre help-desk personnel, as well as the integration of communication applications with the back office throughout implementation and ongoing operations of the program.
