ROOTS HITS THE ROAD WITH LIMITED EDITION "PIT STOPS SUMMER '26" COLLECTION. A CROSS-COUNTRY CAPSULE SERIES INSPIRED BY CANADA'S MOST ICONIC FOOD STOPS
Roots Corp. is hitting the road this summer with the launch of
Pit Stops Summer '26, a limited-edition capsule series celebrating six of Canada's most beloved roadside destinations. Designed in collaboration with Toronto-born multidisciplinary artist and illustrator, Moya Garrison-Msingwana (also known as Gangbox), the collection brings together fashion, food and cultural storytelling through a uniquely Canadian lens.
The limited-edition series features exclusive partnerships with iconic Canadian food spots spanning from coast to coast, including Cows founded in Prince Edward Island, Montreal-based La Banquise and St-Viateur Bagel, the Big Apple and Webers Hamburgers from Ontario, and Vancouver's Duffin's Donuts. Each collaboration draws inspiration from the unique identity, visual language and iconic menu items that have defined these beloved destinations for generations, transforming them into wearable pieces that celebrate regional pride, culinary culture and shared nostalgia.
"Roots has always been part of the moments that define a Canadian summer: the road trips, the detours and the familiar stops that become just as memorable as the destination," said Leslie Golts, chief marketing officer, Roots. "These places are where memories are made with friends and family. They're part of our shared Canadian experience. Celebrating iconic Canadian food favourites and the communities behind them felt natural for Roots because they're part of our story too."
The collection showcases an assortment of graphic crew sweatshirts, T-shirts, tote bags and baseball caps, each designed to reflect the spirit and story of its partner establishment. Through Gangbox's signature painterly style, the capsule blends bold illustration with heritage-inspired design, capturing the essence of Canada's road trip culture -- from late-night snack stops to long-standing beloved local institutions.
Each food stop is represented by four pieces, including made in Canada crews and T-shirts crafted from 100 per cent organic cotton, designed with a relaxed, gender-free fit that feel as good as they look:
-
Roots x Pit Stops Summer '26 crews: $168;
-
Roots x Pit Stops Summer '26 T-shirts: $68;
-
Roots x Pit Stops Summer '26 caps: $44;
-
Roots x Pit Stops Summer '26 totes: $44.
To mark the launch, Roots is bringing the iconic food destinations to Toronto with a three-day Route 73 pop-up at the Well, Wellington Square, from July 29 to July 31. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the collection first-hand, enjoy destination-inspired activations and celebrate the spirit of Canadian roadside stops. Each partner roadside destination will have a select run of their respective merchandise, offering fans a chance to shop the collection.
As part of the launch, customers shopping at Roots Hornby, Roots CF Toronto Eaton Centre and Roots Centreville on July 28 will also receive an exclusive giveaway from select restaurant partners with the purchase of a participating Pit Stops Summer '26 item. Gifts are available while supplies last.
The Pit Stops Summer '26 collection is available to shop on the Roots website, select Roots stores and select partner locations, while supplies last.
