RESVERLOGIX ANNOUNCES PUBLICATION OF SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL ARTICLES RELATING TO APABETALONE'S PREVENTION OF HEART FAILURE
Resverlogix Corp. has published two new scientific journal articles on mechanisms relating to heart failure prevention by the company's lead clinical candidate, apabetalone.
"One of the most striking findings from BETonMACE was the reduction in heart failure hospitalizations among apabetalone-treated patients," said Dr. Ewelina Kulikowski, PhD, chief scientific officer at Resverlogix. "These publications provide new insights into the biology that may underlie this benefit, suggesting that apabetalone reduces metabolic dysfunction and the formation of damaging scar tissue. Metabolic shift improves liver and heart function
The first article, titled: "Apabetalone Drives a Metabolic Shift Towards Ketogenesis and Reduces Liver Steatosis in Diet-Induced Obesity Mice," was published in the peer-reviewed journal Biomedicines and authored by a team of Resverlogix researchers including lead author Laura Tsujikawa.

Apabetalone prevents fibrosis linked to heart failure
The second article, titled: "BET Inhibitor Apabetalone Suppresses the Fibrotic Activation of Cardiac Fibroblasts Associated with Heart Dysfunction," was published in the peer-reviewed journal Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy, and written by lead authors Dr. Sylwia Wasiak and Dr. Dean Gilham.

About apabetalone
Apabetalone (RVX-208) is a first-in-class, small molecule, therapeutic candidate with an epigenetic mechanism of action. It is a BD2 (bromodomain) selective BET (bromodomain and extra-terminal) inhibitor that works in preventing and treating disease by regulating the expression of disease-causing genes.
