Sendero appoints Gillis as interim CEO

2026-09-08 17:49 ET - News Release

Mr. Jeremy Gillis reports

SENDERO RESOURCES APPOINTS JEREMY GILLIS AS INTERIM CEO

Sendero Resources Corp. has appointed Jeremy Gillis as interim chief executive officer of the company.

Mr. Gillis has over 25 years of international business experience, including the past 15 years in natural resources. He has served as Sendero's director of corporate development since 2024. Prior to joining Sendero, Mr. Gillis spent 10 years at Yamana Gold, advancing through consecutive internal promotions, before moving into junior resource company development in 2020 and serving as founder, chief executive officer and a director of Karus Mining Inc.

Mr. Gillis commented: "Penas Negras, in the heart of the Vicuna district, has demonstrated the potential to host multiple mineralized systems offering size and scale, with geological similarities to neighbouring deposits. I am delighted to take on the role of interim CEO and look forward to working with the board, Alex and the rest of the Sendero team. We are fortunate to have the strong backing of our cornerstone investors, with impressive foundations to build on, affording us a springboard into our fully funded $3.5-million upcoming drill campaign at Penas Negras. With a district in the making, I am excited for the near-term opportunities ahead for Sendero as we prepare to test multiple high-priority targets along a nine-kilometre-long trend benefiting from mineralization at surface."

As part of this transition, Alex Gostevskikh has stepped down as chief executive officer of the company. Mr. Gostevskikh will remain a member of Sendero's board of directors and serve as a consultant to the company.

"The board thanks Mr. Gostevskikh for his leadership as chief executive officer and looks forward to his continued involvement with the company," commented director Steven McMullan, member of the team which won the PDAC international discovery award at Ivanhoe's Kamoa deposit in the DRC. "Penas Negras possesses the hallmarks of a fertile Vicuna porphyry epithermal system. With our fully funded drill campaign now set to test this district-scale potential, we believe we are well positioned to make a significant discovery in one of the world's most exciting copper-gold belts within the Miocene Andean magmatic arc, the same metallogenic event responsible for multiple large copper-gold systems along the Vicuna belt, characterized by long-lived, metal-fertile intrusive activity and large hydrothermal footprints, with the right geology and alteration, as well as coincident geochemical and geophysical anomalies."

About Sendero Resources Corp.

The company is focused on copper-gold exploration at its 100-per-cent-owned Penas Negras project in the Vicuna belt in Argentina. The Penas Negras project has similar geological characteristics to other deposits in the Vicuna belt, and multiple porphyry and high-sulphidation epithermal targets have been identified on the project. The company's target area is located approximately 12 kilometres north-northeast of the Josemaria resource area while the centre of the Penas Negras concession area is situated approximately 18 km southeast of Caserones mine operated by Lundin Mining, approximately 24 km northeast of NGEx Minerals' Lunahuasi project and about 32 km north-northeast of BHP-Lundin Mining's Filo del Sol development-stage project. The company also has an option to earn a 100-per-cent interest on eight additional granted mining concessions covering 91.7 square kilometres. The total project area comprises 211.77 square kilometres.
