The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Nov. 3, edition that Talon Metals is an attractively valued base metals company in a joint venture with Rio Tinto on the high-grade Tamarack nickel-copper-cobalt project in Minnesota. The Globe's guest columnist Brian Donovan writes in the Number Cruncher column that Talon is focused on expanding and infilling its current high-grade nickel mineralization resource prepared in accordance with NI 43-101 to shape a mine plan for submission to Minnesota regulators. On Jan. 9, Talon completed its acquisition of the producing Eagle nickel-copper mine and Humboldt Mill in Michigan from Lundin Mining. The stock has risen substantially over the past 12 months and Mr. Donovan says his investing models show it as overvalued at this point. The Globe reported on July 15 that National Bank Financial analyst Andrew Dusome had commenced coverage on Talon Metals with an "outperform" recommendation and an $8 share target. The shares were then going for $5.80.
