Mr. Leo Berezan reports
WESCAN ENERGY SPUDS MULTILATERAL WELL IN THE PROVOST AREA
Wescan Energy Corp. spudded its Wescan 105 Provost 15-21-38-3 multilateral horizontal well on Sept. 10,
2026, and drilling operations are under way. The well, the company's third multilateral in the Provost area of east-central Alberta, targets the Rex member of the Mannville group and is fully financed by the $1.3-million convertible debenture financing announced on Sept. 9, 2026, together with cash on hand. Drilling is expected to take approximately 15 days, and the company will provide a further update once the well has reached total depth.
"Every part of this well, from the target selection and the directional plan to the rig, the crews and the schedule, was put in place well before the licence was issued, which is why we were able to spud within days of receiving it," said Sarshar Ahmad, chief operating officer of Wescan. "The crew is drilling ahead on plan, and we intend to bring this well on production on time and on budget."
