Western Star talks UAV geophysics results for Rowland

2026-06-17 13:16 ET - News Release

Mr. Blake Morgan reports

WESTERN STAR RESOURCES REPORTS UAV GEOPHYSICS RESULTS AT THE ROWLAND TUNGSTEN PROPERTY

Western Star Resources Inc. has released the results of the high-resolution UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) magnetic geophysical survey completed across the Rowland tungsten property in Elko county, Nevada, United States.

The survey was designed to improve the company's understanding of the structural controls on mineralization, refine the geological interpretation of the property and assist with the prioritization of follow-up exploration targets.

Key notes and insights:

  • First modern, high-resolution geophysical data set acquired across the Rowland tungsten property;
  • Total magnetic intensity (TMI), first vertical derivative (1VD), second vertical derivative (2VD) and analytical signal (AS) products have been processed and interpreted;
  • Several existing target zones correspond to northeast-southwest-trending magnetic lineaments, interpreted to represent possible fault structures and fluid pathways;
  • Historical workings and phase 1 target areas appear to be spatially associated with the refined interpretation of the intrusive-carbonate contacts and prospective skarn horizons;
  • A magnetic-high domain and adjacent magnetic-low domain immediately south of the historical Rowland zone represent untested features that may indicate extensions of the prospective skarn horizon;
  • Results will be integrated with pending phase 1 soil geochemistry to support the design of a phase 2 exploration program and refine potential drill targets.

Blake Morgan, the chief executive officer and president of Western Star, stated: "The results of the high-resolution magnetic survey represent an important step in building the first modern exploration data set at Rowland. The survey has highlighted multiple structural features and magnetic domains that appear to be associated with historical workings and interpreted skarn horizons. We look forward to integrating these results with the phase 1 soil geochemistry, which is expected imminently, as we advance toward phase 2 exploration and the definition of priority targets for a maiden drilling campaign."

UAV magnetic results

The Rowland area has limited high-resolution public geophysical coverage, and, to the company's knowledge, no previous operator has completed a modern UAV magnetic survey across the property. As a result, existing geological maps are relatively broad in scale and provide limited detail on the structural architecture of the mineralized system. By completing a high-resolution drone magnetic survey, Western Star has acquired a cost-effective data set that significantly improves the company's ability to interpret the structural and geological setting of the Rowland tungsten property.

Preliminary interpretation of the magnetic data has identified multiple northeast-southwest-trending linear features across the property. These lineaments are interpreted to represent possible fault or fracture zones that may have acted as pathways for hydrothermal fluids associated with tungsten-bearing skarn mineralization.

Importantly, several areas of historical activity appear to coincide with interpreted intrusive-carbonate contacts and magnetic lineaments. This relationship is considered encouraging as tungsten skarn systems commonly develop where mineralizing fluids interact with reactive carbonate host rocks adjacent to intrusive bodies. The survey also suggests that the mapped intrusive system may be more extensive than previously recognized. If confirmed through geological mapping and geochemical follow-up, this could indicate that the prospective intrusive-carbonate contact zone extends beyond the historically worked areas.

In addition, the magnetic-high and adjacent magnetic-low domains located immediately south of the historical Rowland zone represent two untested geophysical features. These areas will be evaluated as part of the company's phase 2 exploration program and may represent potential extensions of the Rowland Main zone or additional prospective skarn horizons.

Next steps

Geophysics will be integrated with the phase 1 assay results, due in the coming weeks, to define the priority drill target inventory and to inform the phase 2 exploration program at Rowland.

Quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC)

Comprehensive QA/QC protocols were applied to the magnetic survey data during data collection to ensure its integrity and reliability. All magnetic data were quality checked in the field and final data processing and gridding were performed using Geosoft Oasis Montaj by Warren Hughes at East Coast Consulting. Diurnal corrections were applied using filtered base station readings, and additional corrections for lag and heading bias were applied. Filtered derivative products -- including the analytical signal and first vertical derivative -- were then computed from the corrected TMI data. Grids were generated using the minimum curvature method with a cell size of approximately one-third of the flight line spacing. All maps are presented in the NAD 1984 UTM Zone 11N co-ordinate system.

About Western Star Resources Inc.

Western Star Resources is an emerging junior mineral exploration company focused on revitalizing North America's tungsten supply. The company is advancing its entry into the U.S. market through the acquisition of a past-producing tungsten mine in Nevada -- one of America's most important historic tungsten districts. With this strategic move, Western Star is positioning itself to play a leading role in re-establishing a secure, domestic source of this critical mineral. The company also owns nine non-surveyed contiguous mineral claims totalling 4,740 hectares, which are located within the Revelstoke mining division of British Columbia. The Western Star property group is located approximately 50 kilometres southeast of Revelstoke, B.C., and roughly 10 kilometres north of the abandoned community of Camborne.
