The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday edition that Ukraine received no warning from its partners about five Russian ballistic missiles hitting civilian infrastructure in Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday, as tensions rise between the Ukrainian leader and U.S. President Donald Trump. An Associated Press dispatch to The Globe reports that Mr. Zelensky called the barrage "particularly vile." Mr. Trump said the U.S. has not stopped sharing intelligence with Ukraine. Mr. Trump has blamed record diesel prices to Ukraine's strikes on Russian oil refineries instead of the war in Iran. He reached a deal with Vladimir Putin to import diesel from Russia to lower fuel prices ahead of the midterm elections. Mr. Trump claimed Sunday that Russia and Ukraine agreed on an "energy ceasefire" to avoid targeting each other's energy infrastructure, but Russia has not confirmed this deal. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said only that "contacts on this matter continue." Mr. Zelensky added that Ukraine had not struck Russian oil refineries or other energy sites in the two days since Mr. Trump announced the purported deal with Mr. Putin. Russia continues to attack on Ukrainian energy facilities and infrastructure.
