ZYUS LIFE SCIENCES CORPORATION ANNOUNCES PLANNED RELEASE DATE FOR PHASE 2A CLINICAL TRIAL RESULTS, ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING RESULTS AND CHANGE IN AUDIT COMMITTEE CHAIR

Zyus Life Sciences Corp. anticipates it will release top-line results from its phase 2a Utopia-1 clinical trial on Sept. 30, 2026. In addition, the company has released the results of its annual general and special meeting of shareholders held on Sept. 24, 2026, including the election of the company's directors, the appointment of its external auditor and approval of its omnibus equity incentive plan. The company further announces a change in the chair of the company's audit committee.

Anticipated timing of phase 2a Utopia-1 top-line results

The company expects to announce top-line results from its phase 2a Utopia-1 (unique treatment of oncology pain in advanced cancer) clinical trial on Sept. 30, 2026. The phase 2a Utopia-1 trial evaluated Trichomylin softgel capsules in patients experiencing moderate to severe cancer-related pain.

Annual general and special meeting results and appointment of external auditor

At the meeting, shareholders voted in favour of all matters presented for approval. Shareholders elected each of the nominees listed in the company's management information circular dated Aug. 14, 2026, as directors of the company, with each director to hold office until the next annual meeting of shareholders or until their successor is duly elected or appointed. The board of directors continues to be composed of six directors: Brent H. Zettl, Richard Hoyt, John L. Knowles, Garnette Weber, Dr. Charlotte Moore Hepburn and Wayne Brownlee.

Shareholders of the company also approved the appointment of MNP LLP, chartered professional accountants, as external auditor of the company and authorized the directors to fix the auditor's remuneration. In addition, shareholders also ratified, confirmed and approved the company's omnibus equity incentive plan.

Change in audit committee chair

The company is also pleased to announce that Mr. Brownlee has been appointed chair of the audit committee, replacing Mr. Knowles, effective Sept. 24, 2026.

Mr. Knowles was appointed interim chief financial officer of the company, effective Sept. 14, 2026, and, in connection with his appointment, has stepped down as chair of the audit committee. Mr. Knowles will continue to serve as a member of the company's board and as a member of the audit committee.

Mr. Brownlee is the former executive vice-president and chief financial officer of Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc. and Nutrien Ltd., and brings extensive experience in corporate finance, business leadership and governance. He is a member of the Order of Canada (CM) and a recipient of the Saskatchewan Order of Merit (SOM).

As chair of the audit committee, Mr. Brownlee will oversee the committee's responsibilities relating to financial reporting, internal controls, risk management and oversight of the company's external auditor.
