The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a so-so 78-74-158 as the TSX Venture Exchange added five points to 641. Lewis Black's Almonty Industries Inc. (AII) was strong today. It jumped 28 cents to $1.70 on 2.1 million shares. There have been more up days than down of late, as Almonty, a 90-center in mid-January, touts continued good news from its Sangdong molybdenum project, not far from its Sangdong tungsten mine in South Korea.
Dr. Stewart Blusson's Archon Minerals Ltd. (ACS) lost five cents to 10 cents on 5,000 shares when it last traded a board lot just before Christmas. The company has just rolled out the report for its second quarter, which ended Nov. 30, 2024. (This is the midpoint of a fiscal year that ends with May.) There were some snippets of news sprinkled among a tired old spiel that had long ago hardened to promotional boilerplate. Some of it is not entirely new -- having first appeared three months ago -- but remember that the bulk of Dr. Blusson's summaries have been unchanged in what seems forever.
