The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a positive 86-74-150 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell two points to 639. Lithium promotions are into their third year of depressed prices, but many promoters are carrying on with their projects. One, Mark Ferguson's Arbor Metals Corp. (ABR), lost three cents to 47 cents on 47,000 shares on word that it has begun ground magnetic surveying at its Kemlee Lake lithium project in the Thunder Bay district of Northwestern Ontario. The work, blathers Mr. Ferguson, president and chief executive officer, is the first phase of the company's "comprehensive exploration strategy aimed at assessing the potential of the [project]."

The target of the geophysics is a series of north-to-south-trending dikes that appear to be aligned with geological features noted on the neighbouring Aumacho claims, held by Dirk Harbecke's Rock Tech Lithium Inc. (RCK: $1.17). The dikes, Arbor enthuses, "are believed to be key to identifying potential lithium-bearing pegmatites in the region." Accordingly, the company is planning up to 100 line-kilometres of surveying -- enough to effectively cover its entire project area.
