The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a mediocre 66-93-151 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell two points to 605. Reagan Glazier's Neotech Metals Corp. (NTMC) added one cent to 13 cents on 252,000 shares. The company has assays from two new holes drilled at Hecla-Kilmer, the rare earth project in Northern Ontario that it acquired last spring from VR Resources Ltd. (VRR: $0.035). One of the two new holes made the highlight reel, with a 342-metre near-surface hit that graded 0.5 per cent total rare earth oxides. The uppermost 58 metres did well, with 1.06 per cent TREO, of which 0.17 per cent were the desirable permanent magnet oxides.
The second hole also did well, at least by grade, as it returned 1.27 per cent TREO, including 0.16 per cent permanent magnet oxides, but only across 12 near-surface metres. There were two deeper zones in that hole, including one that managed 0.95 per cent TREO across 20 metres. Another slightly shallower interval spanned 26 metres, but it ran just 0.34 per cent TREO.
