The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Tuesday was a positive 82-73-155 on a tough day for the major markets, thanks to President Trump trumping a 25-per-cent retaliatory tariff imposed by Ontario's premier, Doug Ford, with a doubling of his 25-per-cent tariff on Canadian steel and aluminum. The TSX-V fared better, rising seven points to 601 today.
Adam Lundin and Dr. William Lamb's Lucara Diamond Corp. (LUC) lost one-half cent to 38.5 cents on 232,000 shares. The company added to its board late last week by adding Melissa Harmon to its current complement, which includes Mr. Lundin, Dr. Lamb, Ian Gibbs and David Dicaire -- all of whom received over 98 per cent of the shareholders' votes last May. The board also includes incumbents Sheila Colman, Paul Conibear and Peter O'Callaghan -- all of whom faced strong headwinds of displeasure, with between 48.7 million and 62.8 million of the roughly 215 million shares voted being withheld.
