The critical and specialty minerals box score for Tuesday was a ho-hum 69-83-158 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose 10 points to 869. Mkango Resources Ltd. (MKA), a rare earth explorer in Malawi, had a tough day, dropping seven cents to 77 cents on 401,000 shares. Ucore Rare Metals Inc. (UCU) also struggled today, dropping 69 cents to $6.23 on 1.32 million shares. Lipari Mining Ltd. (LML), a diamond miner in Brazil and perhaps Angola, rose three cents to 30 cents on 2,000 shares today.
Jordan Trimble's Skyharbour Resources Ltd. (SYH) added 1.5 cents to 36.5 cents on 1.93 million shares Monday on word that the company is buying out its co-venturer, Rio Tinto Exploration Canada Inc. (RTEC), at the Russell Lake uranium project in the eastern Athabasca Basin district of Saskatchewan. To acquire RTEC's 42.3-per-cent interest, Skyharbour will pay $10-million in cash and grant a 0.25-per-cent royalty.
