The critical and specialty minerals box score for Tuesday was a pleasing 124-57-129 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose 13 points to 1,034. Avalon Advanced Materials Inc. (AVL) has been mum since November but it was a busy trader today, adding one-half cent to six cents on 7.27 million shares. The company and its predecessors have been promoting its Nechalacho rare earth project in the Northwest Territories for what seems forever. (Think not? Go see your grandfather: Ask him about Gren Thomas, the Thor Lake project and Highwood Resources Ltd.)
Adam Lundin's Lucara Diamond Corp. (LUC) added one-half cent to 21 cents on 334,000 shares on an update of its underground expansion feasibility study for the Karowe mine in Botswana. The study updates a 2023 version, which in turn updated a 2019 study. It is more of a mid-course correction, as construction has been under way for what seems forever. (As the six-year mark approaches -- it arguably has been forever.)
