The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score was a weak 61-111-118 on Wednesday as the TSX Venture Exchange fell 13 points to 982. Energy Fuels Inc. (EFR), a United States-based uranium, vanadium and rare earth elements company, had a tough day today, as it dropped $1.39 to $26.81 on 1.34 million shares. CleanTech Vanadium Mining Corp. (CTV) also struggled, as it lost two cents to 15 cents on 40,000 shares.

Rodney Campbell's Portofino Resources Inc. (POR) lost one-half cent to one-half cent on 322,000 shares on its last day under that moniker. On Thursday, the company becomes LatAm Lithium Corp. LALI is its ticker, if you have a sudden urge to buy -- and if you do, do not be shocked by the share price: Along with the new name, Portofino has consolidated its stock on a 1:10 basis. Why? Well, as promoters have said -- in words that have been around for nearly as long as Howe Street -- the moves are intended "to better reflect the company's current business focus," in this case on "low-cost, high-grade lithium brine mineral exploration and development in Argentina."
