The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score on Monday was a mediocre 79-98-133 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell five points to 849. Lithium Americas Corp. (LAC) lost five cents to $4.10 on 1.6 million shares. The company continues a material silence -- its last news coming late last month, when it yawned its annual environmental, social, governance and safety report.

Garrett Ainsworth's District Metals Corp. (DMX) ended last week on a high, adding six cents to 65 cents on 375,000 shares as it filed its preliminary economic assessment report for the Viken uranium project in Sweden, documenting the dream sheet it rolled out in June. Viken is huge, with 456 million tonnes indicated at 175 parts per million uranium oxide, 2,836 ppm vanadium oxide, 2,461 ppm potash, and whiffs of various other base and rare metals. That is just the tip of the iceberg -- another 4.33 billion tonnes are inferred at just slightly lower grades.
