The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score on Monday was a mediocre 82-98-130 as the TSX Venture Exchange added 19 points to 888. Blue Moon Metals Inc. (MOON), exploring for tungsten at its Springer project in Nevada, rose 24 cents to $7.71 on 727,000 shares on the quiet today. It had been as high as $11.74 in early June.

Doug Fulcher's One World Lithium Inc. (OWLI) was unchanged at 3.5 cents on 5,000 shares. The company has again rejigged the placement it launched in late April. The company first said it was offering 20 million shares at four cents apiece, seeking $800,000 for working capital and to advance its adjective-laden "patent-pending, proprietary, single-step direct lithium carbonation extraction (DLCE) technology" -- work that was to include continued laboratory testing and engineering evaluation, along with related general and administrative expenditures.

A week later, Mr. Fulcher, chief executive officer, enthused that One World was jacking the price to 4.5 cents, looking to stuff $900,000 into its treasury. In mid-June, the company needed an extension from the regulators, as its placement was struggling -- yet it remained unchanged from the juiced price. It is now late July, and an arithmetically challenged One World says that "the offering will consist of up to 20 million units at a price of 3.5 cents per unit, for gross proceeds of up to $910,000." (The math works at 26 million shares, or perhaps the offering has been cut to $700,000.)
