The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score was a dreary 61-101-158 on Wednesday as the TSX Venture Exchange fell five points to 882. F3 Uranium Corp. (FUU) traded feverishly but moved little, closing unchanged at 12 cents on 10.15 million shares. The company, which is hunting uranium in Northern Saskatchewan, promoted Ray Ashley to president earlier this month. Last week, Ross McElroy replaced Dev Randhawa as chief executive officer. (Mr. Randhawa moved to the Howe Street halfway house for retiring promoters -- executive chairman.)

The drop followed word that the Canadian government is formally reviewing the company's plan to sell the Arizaro lithium project in Argentina to China-based China Union Holdings Ltd. China Union says that it is "reviewing the order" and will advise Lithium Chile on its intended course of action, once determined. (There is no word from the Argentines about how they feel having the Canadian government meddling with one of their national projects.)
