The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a weak 65-94-161 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell 12 points to 827. Mathew Wilson's Sterling Metals Corp. (SAG) sagged 12 cents to 62 cents on 106,000 shares. Sterling, an 89-center earlier this week, has new drill results from the MEPS zone at its Soo copper project, just north of Sault Ste. Marie in Northern Ontario.

The headliner among the three new holes was a 206.2-metre mineralized interval beginning near surface, with a promotable 100.5-metre subinterval averaging 0.31 per cent copper and 0.0059 per cent molybdenum, plus 0.04 gram of gold and 1.73 grams of silver per tonne -- a copper equivalent of 0.4 per cent. The best grades came from a 20-metre interval near the bottom of the zone, which ran 0.98 per cent copper equivalent. The two other holes also hit mineralization, but with lower grades and narrower intervals, including a 31.3-metre interval that ran 0.42 per cent copper equivalent.
