New York spot gold fell $1.40 to $2,018.50 on Friday. The TSX Venture Exchange rose 0.69 point to 550.86 while the TSX gold index lost 1.67 points to 260.89. Most Canadian gold miners moved little today, but Gregory Lang's Novagold Resources Inc. (NG) continued its downward trek, dropping 20 cents to $3.80 on 543,000 shares. The final four holes probed the Athelstan area, seeking feeder zones along and directly below the old mine.
