New York spot gold fell $4.60 to $2,019.80 on Monday. The TSX Venture Exchange rose 2.46 points to 549.05 while the TSX gold index added 2.33 points to 254.76. Most Canadian gold miners edged higher today. One of Friday's retreaters was on the advance today: New Gold Inc. (NGD) added nine cents to $1.67 on 1.65 million shares. On the other hand, Eldorado Gold Corp. (ELD) continued last week's decline from an early February high of $17.28, dropping 13 cents to $15.89 on 392,000 shares today.
There were plenty of new assays today. First the good news: Collin Kettell's Nevada King Gold Corp. (NKG) rose two cents to 37 cents on 451,000 shares on word it has drilled a 61-metre interval grading 3.52 grams of gold and 15.7 grams of silver per tonne in the West Atlanta graben zone at its Atlanta project in southeastern Nevada. The hit included a 10.7-metre interval grading 7.55 grams of gold and 36.3 grams of silver per tonne.
